1. Lawrence Lewis was the son of George Washington’s sister, Betty Washington Lewis, and her husband Fielding Lewis. Lawrence married Martha Washington’s granddaughter Eleanor Parke Custis and was one of the executors of Washington’s will. Gabriel Jones Lewis (1775–1864) was the son of Elizabeth Jones Lewis, third wife of John Lewis, Fielding Lewis’s oldest son by his first wife, Catharine Washington, a cousin of George Washington. Gabriel Lewis was a surveyor who lived in Kentucky (Paula S.
