From Jedediah Huntington, 27 January 1807 (Abstract)
§ From Jedediah Huntington. 27 January 1807, “Collectors Office,” New London. “I transmit an abstract of seamen registered in the last quarter. John Brutus, mentioned in Mr Brents letter of the 24 ult., has transiently resided in this place; the woman with whom he cohabited stands now in the same relation to another. I do not find, as yet, any creditable testimony of his citizenship.”
RC (DNA: RG 59, Letters Received regarding Impressed Seamen, box 2). 1 p.; docketed by Brent as received 2 February, “concerning John Brutus, an Impressed Seamen.” Enclosure not found.
