I take the liberty of enclosing you a note this moment recieved.1
I have had the pleasure of receving by this Evenings Mail your favor of the 22d. and will endeavour by the next Mail to forward you a model of my Telegraph. Believe me with the highest respect & Esteem, Dear Sir, Yours,

RC and enclosure (DLC). RC docketed by JM. The enclosure is a note from William Coleman (1 p.) stating that U.S. gunboats had attacked a British frigate stationed near Hampton that morning, that British barges had come to the defense of the frigate, and that the outcome of the action was not known. Coleman’s note was dated “Wednesday Eveng.”; 24 Mar. 1813 was a Wednesday.
