James Madison Papers

From James Madison to Daniel Parker, 12 September 1813 (Abstract)

§ To Daniel Parker

12 September 1813, Montpelier. “J. Madison requests the favor of Mr. Parker, to seal & deliver the inclosed, if the Gentlemen to whom it is addressed should be in Washington; if they are not to forward it to the post office at Fredg. to await their call. To put Mr. P. in full possession of the case, The letter & Memorial referred to are inclosed.”

RC (PHi: Daniel Parker Papers). 1 p. The latter enclosures were probably Richard E. Parker and John T. Lomax to JM, 6 Sept. 1813, and the enclosed memorial. The first enclosure, presumably JM’s reply to Parker and Lomax, has not been found.
