1. William Peachey, major in the 2d Virginia Regiment, was a captain in GW’s Virginia Regiment from September 1755 until the summer of 1757.
2. Forbes consistently designated the adjutant for the following day not by name but by military unit, presumably meaning that the adjutant in that unit would serve as adjutant for the entire camp on that day.
3. Quartermaster James Sinclair wrote from Raystown to Bouquet at Loyalhanna on this date: “I have this day sent off under two Escorts fifty Waggons loaded with flower & pork; two with Arms, three Barrels of whiskey and a Labratory chest, two with Virginea Clothing and one wh Indian Corn. Likewise a hundred & Sixty Pack horses loaded with flower” (Stevens, , 2:539). He also promised to send up on 25 Sept. a number of “Bullocks.”
