General Orders
Head-Quarters Morristown monday Decr 13th 1779.
Parole Cambridge— C. Signs Colbert Dover.
The Main Guard ’till further orders to consist of a Captain—Subaltern 3 serjeants, 4 Corpls, 2 Dr[ums] & F[ifes] & 50 privates to be relieved every two days and to be supplied with three days provision.
Major Church to go on detachment,1 vice, Major Leavensworth, sick.

Adj. Gen. Alexander Scammell’s orderly book entry for this date includes additional general orders: “The Connecticut Line gives the Main Guard Tomorrow. …
The Detachment to be commanded by General Parsons which was to have paraded at 9 oclock this Morning—to parade Tomorrow Morning 9 oclock [(]precisely) at Kimball’s [Peter Kemble’s]” (orderly book, 17 Oct. 1779–22 March 1780, DNA: RG 93, Orderly Books, 1775–1783, vol. 33; see also the general orders for 12 Dec., and n.2).
