The Libby catalog, 3 Dec. 1892, quoted this sentence from a letter Stone wrote GW from Annapolis: “The Compact made at Mount Vernon was ratified by our assembly I believe without a dissent in either house. I hope it will meet with as friendly a reception in your Assembly.”
